Our Mission

"To awaken and deepen faith..."

The mission of the Cenacle flows from the Christian Mystery of Pentecost. As the followers of Jesus prayed in the Cenacle (the Upper Room) after his Ascension, the power of the Holy spirit transformed them into fearless witnesses and messengers of the Gospel. The Cenacle Sisters and their collaborators, empowered by this same Spirit, companion men and women who desire to nurture their inner lives as they seek a deeper connection with God, society and all of creation.

The Warrenville Cenacle Prayer Enrollment Office and various Cenacle Retreat houses are owned and operated by the Religious of the Cenacle, an international Roman Catholic community of women dedicated to the ministry of faith development. The sisters and their associates are trained to provide spiritual guidance for groups and individuals seeking to deepen their relationship with God and thus with their neighbors and themselves. People of all faiths are offered warm hospitality and peace, and share in the prayer of the Cenacle sisters at various facilities and locations.
